Rayman 1: Dream Forest Fan Remix/Smash Remix (Headphones Recommended)

It feels so good to finally have this complete. Almost a year or so on and off working on this composition, a remix of the first track you hear in the original Rayman, soundtrack written by Remi Gazel for the PS1 (Pink Plant Woods, First Steps, Level 1 of the Dream Forest, or whatever have you its got several names), and I can definitively say in my opinion it's one of the most underrated tracks from the entire franchise, maybe even in "old school" platformers in general. I was inspired to create this in the style of the Smashville and Banjo Kazooie Main Theme remixes from Smash Ultimate, where they took an iconic song from the game and sped it up to make it more of a fast rock beat with other musical references and leitmotifs from the game's OST, with a banjo of course playing the main role. Along the way, it kind of branched into its own thing separate from Smash, but with the same style I could still see it being placed in a fan project or something, maybe like a Rivals or Fraymakers stage that takes place in the same location perhaps? I'm super glad that I got to express my love for the Rayman franchise and the first game in the series through this remix, and it's definitely the most fun I've ever had composing something. I'd love to do something like this again if I ever get the chance. R.I.P Remi Gazel. You're one of the most brilliant composers the video game world has ever known.
