Albayzin, was the historic Moorish Quarter of the city, known for its Islamic influence. It is a beautiful part of the city with great views of the Alhambra. Albayzin or Albaicín is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and full of narrow cobbled streets, old houses, churches and a beautiful old mosque and you will find lots of halal restaurants and some tourist shops nearer to the city centre. There are lots of gardens that you can see through railings and this is where you will find the Mirador de San Nicolas from which you can get a fantastic view of the Alhambra.
