In this video we review the modifications you need to make when you are faced with a bunker shot from either an uphill lie or a downhill lie. First, you need to accept the fact that the uneven lie will definitely impact the shape of your bunker shot. An uphill lie will send your ball on a higher than normal trajectory whereas a downhill lie will send the ball very low to the ground. You therefore need to adjust your targeted landing area and adjust for the change in roll distance.. Next, you need to match your spine and your shoulder line to the ground underneath you. Aim for your spine to be perpendicular to the slope, if you can without losing your balance. Next, execute your bunker shot while again making sure to keep your balance. Finally, make sure that your club path also matches the slope of the sand, otherwise you risk seeing your clubhead either dig too deep into the ground or skip off of it.
