SPOTIFY: https://spoti.fi/3bgp699 "Aces High" from Iron Maiden's "Powerslave" album (1984). Haven't done a Maiden cover in quite some time. Oddly enough, the last one was "2 Minutes to Midnight" which comes right after Aces High lol. That one was just in standard E, A=440. For some reason though, this song was a lot higher, hence the A=446. Anyway, I really tried to play like Steve this time with the soft brushing, rather than destroying my picking hand. Iron Maiden songs are never easy on bass and Aces High is no exception. If you play this one aggressively, you won't be able to make it till the end, that's a guarantee. During the intro, bar 5 is a weird one. The big chord comes slightly after the beat. This happens only once and I think they just messed up the timing or something. The rhythm section is already going too fast at times, and that doesn't only happen during the intro. And yeah, the outro is just a mess. Don't pay too much attention to it cause we all know it's one of those things that work really well live and in the studio, but not when you're trying to cover/transcribe it. It's not easy, but the structure is very straightforward so I wouldn't say it is as hard as let's say Fear of the Dark. Some important information that nobody is going to read.
