WEDNESDAY - THE SPECTACULAR BRITISH NORMANDY MEMORIAL AND PEGASUS BRIDGE. This would prove to be a day none of us would forget as we six Wiltshire Whizzers set out on our motorcycles to ride the to Vers-sur-Mer. The British Normandy Memorial is so simple yet spectacular in its message of recognition of those who died in the Normandy campaign. The Silhouettes representing those who died on D-Day bring a special realisation of what must have happened on the beaches and the hills leading up from the shore. We split and wandered around with our own thoughts while we were in this place. Pegasus Bridge over the Caen Canal and the close-by bridge over the River Orne and then the town of Ranville were the first places to be liberated in France, late on 5th June, the day before D-Day. ‪@RobLittleuk‬ FAT MAN, TINY BIKE...5 JOURS EN NORMANDIE !!
