Tour of the Military Buildings We are Converting to Our Home

In this video I will give a tour and further explanation of the structures that remain on site, how they were used and how they are built. These buildings were constructed from reinforced concrete and brick and design to withstand attack in world war 2. The buildings formed part of a larger complex called the communal site originally and this RAF base had runways, accommodation and even a local produce store! We are obsessed by the original buildings and the conversion will retain the original structures and site features whilst making it usable for us to live in them. This is a self build project and although we are both architects we are passionate about doing the work and gathering a small team that are so valued in helping us along the way! Oh, and don't worry we are planting lots more trees than we are taking down!
