Speed Hike statistics Date: 09th August 2023 Start: 07:15 am End: 02:15 pm Duration: 07 hours Minimum altitude: 5000 m Maximum altitude: 5920 m Total distance: 14 km Total elevation gain: 1100 m . Chomo Chonkar lake (5650 m) is definitely one of the highest lakes of our country. I came across this lake while scanning the landscape around Tsomoriri in Fatmap. . The Survey of India maps do show the lake but there was no trail reference. The contours seemed to be nicely spaced out thanks to @openstreetmap9504 . The Speed Hike definitely needs a well acclimatized body and good fitness levels. The month of August should be an ideal time to hike to the lake.
