Film showing the rare 'Super Blood Wolf Moon' rise and fall over the Cairngorms, Scotland, during the 2019 lunar eclipse, overnight 20th - 21st January. During the eclipse the moon turns red as the Earth passes precisely between the Sun and the Moon. The music is called 'Lament for the Gordons of Knock' performed by talented Scottish composer and fiddle player Paul Anderson from Tarland. The reference to "super" moon comes from the moon's closest approach to the Earth and "wolf" from the name given to full moons in January. The eclipse began at 02:35 GMT on Monday and ended at 07:49 GMT, but the point of greatest eclipse was at 05:12 GMT. The phases are Penumbral eclipse, as the outer (lighter) part of the Earth's shadow begins moving across the Moon, Partial eclipse when the darker, inner part of the Earth's shadow (umbra) begins covering the Moon, then total eclipse or totality, when the umbra completely covers the Moon, turning it a reddish brown colour.
