I had to cut parts of the rear floor pan to get the body to sit correctly on all the body mounts. I installed a new 20 gauge floor pan over the top of the holes I cut. I also boxed in the underside of the floor pan to keep water and dirt from getting into the floor pan and rusting it out. I seam sealed all the welds underneath as well. GM changed the floor pan design in 1978, allowing more leg room for the rear seat by dropping the floor pan to the same height as the front floor pan. In previous years the floor pan went all the way to the back of the front seats at the same height. That is why I had to cut up the floor pan in my 86. If I had a 73-77 body it would have been a direct bolt on to my 77 frame. I really needed a 78-82 2wd k5 frame for it to be a direct bolt on.Learn from my mistakes, don't just take someone's word that what they are selling you is what they are actually selling you.
