Sometimes you hike for 8 miles and climb over 4,000 feet and wind up in a cloud. But what's the alternative, stay at home? Welcome to the real Pacific Northwest experience. In mid-October, Katie, Zeus, and I went for an autumn climb of Mount Dickerman, a classic peak off the Mountain Loop Highway. We were hoping for epic fall colors and the first dusting of winter snow on the surrounding peaks. What we got was... an education in loving the journey. This short film is for anyone who has ever stared at a weather forecast, saw a 50% chance of "meh," and went for it anyway. It's a story about enjoying the moody beauty of a forest in the rain and beauty of falling snow in the alpine. The pho never tasted so good. // TIMESTAMPS 0:00 - A Warning 0:18 - A Soggy Forest 1:11 - Winter Arrives 1:46 - The "Epic" Summit 2:32 - The View From Two Years Ago 2:41 - Pho & Closing #PNWHiking #MountDickerman #WashingtonState #Hiking #Mountaineering #FallColors #MountainLoopHighway
