This is a tutorial series for lay people who face major trauma due to acts of war in the Ukraine. The video describes how to approach severely injured people with the ATLS-approach (Advanced Trauma Life Support). This video is about neural damage and hypothermia due to severe trauma. Spine fractures may cause pressure upon the spinal cord, resulting in paralysis. It is therefore important to stabilize traumatized patients. Dr. med. Dr. phil. Stefan Buntrock, urologist from Göttingen gives advice on basic principles how to treat this kind of injuries. There are a lot of things, everybody can do without being a doctor. The measures outlined in this video might help to increase the chances of survival by stabilizing the patient until professional treatment can be provided.
