Mevagissey Shanty & Seasong Festival 2024

Founded in 2019 by Tristan Netherton of the Stuns’ls Shanty Group the Mevagissey Shanty Festival is a joyful celebration of maritime shanty singing and local heritage. The Festival helps to boost off-peak commerce and community spirit, and, to date, has raised over £10,000 for local causes. Now - 2024 - in its sixth year, the festival, supported by Keltek Brewery and the Mevagissey Harbour Board, features 440 singers and helps promote sustainability through education and community involvement. It was not possible to get all bands, singers and choires on video or photo - sorry to those which are not part of this video. And of course I have favorites - as you will recognise later....
