She was 25 years old at the time of her passing, originally from Alamcode in Thiruvananthapuram district. She was an IT professional working with Infosys in Thiruvananthapuram and had also been crowned Miss South India 2021. She was active in modeling, photoshoots, and social media. Dr Anjana Shajan was the first runner-up in Miss Kerala 2019. She was 26 years old, hailed from Thrissur, and was an Ayurveda doctor (having studied at KMCT Medical College). She won subtitles like Miss Beautiful Smile and Miss Photogenic in the pageant. She balanced her medical career with modeling and acting (including a short film), and was involved in initiatives like online counseling during the pandemic. Both were close friends who met during the Miss Kerala rehearsals and often collaborated on photoshoots and projects. Tragically, they both died in a car accident on November 1, 2021 (early morning hours), on the Vyttila-Palarivattom Bypass in Kochi. They were traveling in a car with two others after an event/party at a hotel in Fort Kochi. Ansi Kabeer and Anjana Shajan died on the spot after the vehicle crashed into a tree. A third passenger, Mohammed Ashique (an advertising professional), succumbed to injuries days later, while the driver survived. The incident drew significant media attention due to their rising careers and some speculation/controversy around the circumstances (including family demands for further probes like CBI involvement), though official reports described it as a case of rash driving, possibly under the influence.
