I RESIGNED.

Catch up with me in this video & let's chat all things resignation and what I plan on doing when I step away from the classroom. Although this decision came quickly, it's a decision that once it came up I couldn't stop thinking about it. The whole thing made me very upset as I realized this school wasn't for me and didnt have the best for me. After I made the decision, I was very much at peace and could breathe again. Many people have asked how I feel now that I'm not teaching: I feel relieved in a way. I didn't realize how much teaching held onto part of my identity and so I'm struggling a little with not saying "I am a teacher" in the present vs "I was a teacher" in the past. That idea sounds so bizarre as I've been teaching consistently for the past four years. Let me know if you've felt the same if you've left the profession. I'm hoping it gets better as time goes by. Seeing classrooms makes me sad and watching teacher youtubers is not in the cards for me right now. It just makes me see what I didn't have from my school (even though I know a picture or video isn't always what it seems to be). I can't get my heart & head on the same page at the moment.
