In this video, I want to share five different lesson that came from that experience. 1. Don’t Use Money In Extremes We often live our lives in extremes which can make us very emotional and aggressive. When it comes to money, we often live in these extremes where we are extremely materialistic and obsess over consumerism or we are extremely cheap and deprive ourselves. Neither one of these extremes is a healthy way to live because they are not a life of balance. When it comes to money, I find it important to find the balance of the two extremes, which I believe is being intentional, focusing on value, and not being wasteful. This allows you to enjoy the short term while not hurting your future self. 2. Use Money As A Tool To Enrich Your Life Money by itself does nothing, but it is what you do with money that brings value to your life. It is important to have savings and be financially responsible; however, it is also important to use money to enrich your life. You never know what is going to happen in life, so it is important to actively use your money to make your life better, otherwise it might never end up serving you. 3. While You’re Here, You Might As Well Take Chances We often focus on the long term in life and delay doing things in the present for the hopes that the future will be easier; however, you never know what is going to happen in life. If you live your life like you're guaranteed to live to old age, then you are taking life for granted. Although we shouldn't take dumb risks in life, it is important to not take life for granted and take chances so you never have to say what if. 4. Collect As Many Experiences As Early On As You Can In the book, "Die With Zero," the author speaks about this concept called, "Memory Dividends," which are the memories that you get from having an experience to reminisce on throughout your life. The author argues that you shouldn't delay experiences in life because the sooner you get them, the more time you can enjoy the memories of that experience. You never know what is going to happen in life, so you should focus on getting experiences early on rather than delaying them. 5. Don’t Take Yourself Too Seriously, Nobody Will Make It Out Alive The near death experience on the highway taught me that you're not guaranteed to make it to old age. It is important to take risks, do things you enjoy, and live life to the fullest because you never know what is going to happen in life.
