AAP MP Bashes 'Saffron Brigade', Says UP CM Got Toilet Painted In Saffron | Pathan Controversy

‘Pathaan’ song Besharam Rang, featuring Shah Rukh Khan (SRK) and Deepika Padukone, is in the eye of the storm – stirring dust in the political circles and evoking a spate of reaction. There are calls to ban the film as the boycott brigade gets active. The controversy is primarily over Deepika Padukone, seen in solidarity with anti-BJP protests at JNU, wearing a saffron outfit in the song, Besharam Rang. Padukone’s film Padmavavat had faced protests from right-wing groups over “distortion of history.” Leading the anti-Pathaan campaign from the front is Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Dr Narottam Mishra, who was furious over the use of saffron costume in the song. He emphatically said that ‘Pathaan’ would not be released in the state if certain shots were not replaced. He pointed out actress Deepika Padukone is a sympathiser of the ‘Tukde Tukde’ gang and that he found her appearance “extremely objectionable”. Mishra has shared a video of himself on Twitter speaking to the local media.
