Hey friends! Happy Friday Fly-day! Hope you had a fantastic week! Today, we're flying from Telluride to Salida in the superb Working Title Simulations Cirrus SR22T! We'll be challenging ourselves over the rowdy Rockies! We'll have a tough climb out of Telluride. Those hills sure do rise fast in the area, so we'll need to circle a couple of times before we get on our flight path. The SR22T has plenty of climb, though, so we'll be ok. The approach into Salida is also a wild one! The RNAV-A is a doozy of a displaced approach. We're darn near a right angle to the airport coming in. Not only is the approach angle weird, but the descent rate is crazy. We'll be dropping at -1200 to -1500 VS to try to stay on the slope. It looks like we were roughly at FL 120 at SOSEE, so I think I was on a pretty good dive. Hard to keep the speed in check at that rate, though! Have a great weekend, my friends!
