1973 Jaguar XJ12 Engine Swap I met the owner Steve originally from Philadelphia, PA., and his son Brody. Last month I filmed the car and couldn’t see the engine so I didn’t post. This month I ran into Steve and was able to finish the video. Thank you Steve and Brody for showing us your car. Actually fairly common and has been done for many years. This 1973 Jaguar XJ12 with GM engine swap. Someone somewhere took a look at the beauty of the Jaguar XJ and figured out that Chevy engines could be installed in place of the Jaguar engines. I have never owned a Jaguar however like all automobiles they require service and I guess someone figured our engines were better than theirs so you can use with a kit from Jaguar Specialties and any Chevrolet engine from 1969 and up. Conversions are done With XJ models starting in 1970 and up to the 2002 XK8 and XKR. These conversions have been going on for years. It’s a form of Resto-modding I guess. *NOTE: What made this a simple conversion was that the Jaguar XJ’s had a GM 400 automatic trans mounted at the factory To learn more about engine swapping in a Jaguar, follow the links below: Jaguar Specialties V8 Conversion Kit http://www.jaguarspecialties.com/v8_k... https://engineswapdepot.com/?p=944 https://forums.jag-lovers.com/t/how-a...
