The final lesson in our 25 part curriculum series is focused on refractive cataract surgery. You can see the entire curriculum series here. This series is designed to take a young ophthalmologist in training through the process of learning cataract surgery starting from the beginning. With 25 lessons in total and each lesson being 30 to 45 minutes, there is a significant time commitment, but I assure you that it is well worth your time. I suggest doing one lesson every week (over 6 months) or every other week (lasting 12 months). Today’s lesson is important for patient satisfaction because if you fix the cataract but fail to address the refractive status of the eye, the patient will be less than happy.
