Ride along on this winter road trip into the desert Southwest as we photograph an F-22 with shiny silver skin panels departing Nellis AFB during Red Flag 22-1. Then watch the nightly sunset air activity over the desert community of lake Havasu City, Arizona. At Luke AFB, we caught waves of F-35s and contractor Dassault Mirage jets the day before the crash of one of the Mirages in the desert. The picturesque mining town of Globe, Arizona, hosts a Southern Pacific 2-6-0 in its park, and Duncan, Arizona, is working on its F-100F display. We have a quick fly-by of an A-10 over the Pima Air and Space Museum -- a separate video on that grand collection will follow later. And no trip through the Owens Valley in eastern California would be complete with out a visit to the colorful Alabama Hills, recognizable as the backdrop for countless western movies and TV shows for decades. Then it's on to a couple train museums; first the SP narrow gauge collection in Laws, California, and then the magnificent Nevada State Railroad Museum in Carson City. This road trip glimpse is just a quick pause at some of these stops; we have, or will have, more detailed videos on many of these places.
