TESTIMONIAL | MENINGOENCEPHALIC HERNIATION | BHNS

Shilpa, a 35 year old lady was operated elsewhere for ear complaints and subsequently after a year later, she experienced nausea and vomiting. She was referred to Dr. Sampath Chandra Prasad Rao and to our center. On examination, there was a pulsating mass in the operated ear. Scans revealed a condition called Meningoencephalic Herniation wherein the brain tissue above the ear had prolapsed into the operated ear cavity. Patient was taken up for surgery to deal with this by Dr. Sampath Rao and Team BHNS. It was found to be a massive herniation which was repaired and the ear cavity was closed by doing a blind sac closure. She is recovering well and is free of her symptoms.
