British Airways Landor - G-BNLY | Close Up At Bournemouth Airport | 24.05.2020 On 24.05.2020 we decided to take a trip down to Bournemouth Airport to see the stored British Airways Aircraft there... The only types of BA Aircraft stored there were A319s, 320s, 321s and 747s... And one of those aircraft was the Landor 747... This particular aircraft was painted back in early 2019 to celebrate British Airways 100th Birthday along with 3 other aircraft, 2 of which are 747s. The reason why so many BA Aircraft are stored here is because of the current Coronavirus pandemic, which has grounded and suspended many operations of airlines across the globe... British Airways are still operating flights in and out of LHR but on a very limited service... and because of that around 75% of their aircraft are grounded. Now as British Airways is based at LHR you'd think that the aircraft would all be parked there... however parking fees at LHR are very expensive, so they moved some to here (Bournemouth Airport) to reduce that cost... This particular aircraft (G-BNLY) has been here for around 2 months now and it's future with British Airways is uncertain, BA are currently retiring some of their 747 aircraft and replacing them with much more fuel efficient aircraft such as the 787-10 and the A350. BA say they are planning to get rid of all their 747s by 2024 but will get rid of them in stages of the remaining 4 years, however the public are demanding to keep the centenary aircraft operational for as long as possible. However if that doesn't happen then this may be the last time we see this Aircraft in it's beautiful colours, and the last time the public get to see it as a close up advantage. If you can, try to visit Bournemouth Airport in these current conditions to get a really good picture of this wonderful aircraft...social distancing is not a problem too! The soundtrack to this video was composed by my dad! Stay Safe and thanks for watching... #BritishAirways
