The Changing Landscape of Pulmonary Nodule Management

Incidental pulmonary nodules can be part of your early detection strategy when LDCT screening faces challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic. An estimated 1.6 million nodules are detected each year in the U.S. on CT scans or imaging studies (other than LDCT screening). This identification presents an opportunity for early stage diagnosis, improved clinical outcomes, and decreased medical malpractice risk. Within the GO2 Foundation Care Continuum Centers of Excellence, facilities have important findings demonstrating that appropriate management of lung nodules detected incidentally and through lung cancer screening.
