This Original Article by Dr. Sadri Ozan Sozer and Dr. Serhat Sibar discusses volume loss after explant, which varies from mild to significant. They found that a new procedure called inferomedial-based parenchymal rotation flap can be applied in this patient group because of its wide rotation arc and reliable vascularity. A Commentary by Dr. Dennis Hammond congratulates the authors, noting that the flap can serve as a “handle” to stabilize the position of the inframammary fold; further study is indicated to determine long-term results. This Preliminary Report by Dr. Rolando Morales and co-authors reviews the debate in the literature: which plane is safest for gluteal implant augmentation, finding that the subfascial/intramuscular dual-plane technique combined with liposculpture and fat transfer offers a durable cosmetic augmentation, without an increase in complications.
