60103 “Flying Scotsman” visits Birmingham! | 19 & 20/02/26

This week would see 3 consecutive days of Flying Scotsman shuttles running from Birmingham Moor Street to Dorridge and return, operated by Vintage Trains! Starting on the Thursday, I firstly began just outside Small Heath station where 60103 can be seen departing Tyseley depot on the ECS into Moor Street. Unfortunately, this shot wasn’t quite what I’d hoped it would be, with Scotsman being held on a red signal due to running early. I then moved on to Bentley Heath Crossing for the first shuttle of the day, where 60103 can be seen departing Dorridge with plenty of whistles! I then tried out Solihull Meadow which was a new location for me and definitely didn’t disappoint. For the remainder of the day, I decided to just get some shots around Widney Manor. On the Friday I once again set up just outside Small Heath station, this time at Small Heath bridge, where 60103 can be seen steaming away from the station. After this, I tried another new location by heading to Wadleys Road bridge. Unfortunately, a speed restriction at Olton that I was unaware of meant 60103 was slowing down for this by the time it reached the bridge. I then decided to move to Tyseley for a few shots before catching the final shuttle at Solihull from the station car park. Upon arrival back at Moor Street, I chose to get one final shot of Scotsman at the buffers to conclude an amazing two days! #heritage #steamlocomotive #steamtrain #60103 #flyingscotsman #vintagetrains
