i decided to try connecting my roland td-17 mini e-kit 🥁 to a beatstep pro and trigger drum sounds from my 🎛️ eurorack synthesizer. i've collected all of these bits and bobs over the past 5 years but it never occurred to me to hook them all up in this way to play live modular drums using drum pads. ps: i'm rusty on drums, spent 10-15 minutes patching this up, one take with no rehearsal — so the sounds/level/mix is meh. just a proof of concept i wanted to document right away! kick → befaco kickall snare → alm tyso daiko closed hat → wmd chimera open hat → noise engineering basimilus iteritas alter floor tom → mutable instruments plaits (modal resonator mode) ride → erica synths pico drums (cymbal sample) everything modulated out-of-sync by random sequences and LFOs from a pamela's pro workout and malekko voltage block, mixed through a pittsburgh modular system interface with a touch of reverb via the erica synths pico dsp in the effects send. now if i can only figure out a way to make some of the module respond to midi velocity messages from the td-17 module without spending any money on new gear... 🤔
