Todays teardown subject is a 2.4L KA24DE out of a 1995 Nissan 240sx with 230k miles. This engine is out of a parts car I purchased very wrecked at the salvage auction. Since the car was wrecked, I figured the engine would be good but CLEARLY, that wasn't the case. We dismantled the car and sold everything from the car we could, and I saved the engine for a teardown video to see why it was so bad. This engine nearly broke me! I haven't had such a simple engine take so much effort to come apart. The KA24DE was the only engine offered from 1991-1998 in the 240sx, it was also available in the Altima and Frontier/Xterra. This version was rated 155hp and 160tq, but that was not enough as 100% of 240sx's that still exist today have engines from different cars that make substantially more. Why am I doing this? My name is Eric and I own Importapart. A full service auto dismantler. Part of our model includes dismantling blown up, failed and otherwise bad engines to salvage the good parts. We do not rebuild engines, merely supply parts to those who do! TO BUY PARTS, visit www.Importapart.com OR email us at [email protected] Every week I post at least one teardown video as I have over the last 3.5 years.
