SEYDISFJORDUR Iceland Cruise Port Guide - what to do and photograph?

Seydisfjordur in Iceland is one of the most charming cruise ports I have ever visited and in this video I take you along as I explore the town with my camera. The day began with thick fog rolling through the fjord but instead of seeing it as a problem, I used it to create atmospheric photos that highlight the mystery of this little town. My first stop was the colourful Rainbow Road in front of the blue church which celebrates the LGBTQIA+ community. From there I set off on a geocaching walk before heading up the hills to capture the streams and waterfalls that make this destination so photogenic. As the fog lifted the views transformed completely and I was able to photograph the ship, the mountains and the powerful waterfall all in glorious sunshine. I experimented with panorama shots and used my iPhone to create long exposure flowing water effects. Later in the day I revisited the Rainbow Road to try a new photography technique that removes people from the scene and I also discovered the Twisted Metal Monument, a striking reminder of the avalanche that hit Seydisfjordur in the 1990s.
