Bismillah. 11 April 2022. Welcoming @fireflyairlines in Sexy Orange B737 at Kuching International Airport. The touch down of the Boeing 737-800 aircraft, with the registration number 9M-MLG, was greeted with a water salute. Welcoming the arrival of the historic flight at the airport was Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah. Firefly Airlines is operating one-time daily return flights from Penang to Kuching for now and its flight frequency will be increased to twice a day starting April 25. Firefly Airlines said they would operate its Boeing 737-800s to Johor Bahru, Kota Kinabalu and Kuching starting April 11 to support the recovery of domestic tourism as well as celebrating its 15th anniversary since the airlines’ founding.
