The FMS 'F4U 4 Corsair' has a 1.4m wingspan, runs a 4250 KV540 brushless motor with a 14x8 four-blade prop, 80A ESC, rotating retracts, and split flaps on a 4S 5000mAh LiPo. Flight Review: I set the Corsair up on the tarmac and rolled into a smooth takeoff. Everything felt solid right from the start. A fellow club member was flying his Mitsubishi Zero at the same time, so I intercepted him around 1:30 and ran a few aileron rolls and a loop. I was constantly managing throttle slowing down for controlled descents and then adding power to climb back up. Before attempting a simulated deadstick landing, I came up short of the runway and tipped over, so I had to reset. On the second takeoff, I made sure everything was stable and filmed the Zero landing by flying right behind it, keeping a safe distance. When it came to my own landing, it was heavy basically slammed onto the deck like rough seas. The Corsair handled it, but it was a wake-up call on being more careful with approach speed and flare. Overall, the flight was exciting, full of aerobatics and close-up filming, and it really showed off how versatile and solid the Corsair is in both maneuvers and scale operations.
