Welcome to episode #50 of Sounds Sick, the format, where we´re gonna present a bunch of cool and/or unusual stuff from our studio! For our 50th Episode(can you believe it?!), we have something really special for you! We are featuring the infamous Swedish Death and Black Metal Chainsaw: The Boss HM-2, Heavy Metal. This is the Taiwanese version of the pedal, featuring the classic four controls: Level, Bass, Treble and Gain. Of course you are gonna crank all of these if your gonna use this pedal! Disturbingly disgusting! This pedal in the everything cranked setting is completely insane, I would argue, that it actually is almost completely unusable. UNLESS YOU RECORD WITH IT! In the room it is simply too much of everything, but you do get that insanely evil and crushing guitar tone heard on countless records(Entombed, Nails etc. etc.) very easily, once you put a Mic in front if your cab and listen back to it! Awesome. Brutal. Signal Chain: Epiphone Flying V Korea Laney AOR 100 (6 knob) Marshall 1960A Mic´d with a Shure sm57 up close, and a Brauner Phanthera for ambience/room.
