Get to know BIOMET4D researcher...Dr. Santiago Ochandiano from Hospital Gregorio Marañon

In this video, get to know BIOMET4D researcher Dr. Santiago Ochandiano, Chief of the Oral and Maxillofacial section at the Children’s Hospital at the Gregorio Marañón General University Hospital in Madrid, Spain. Dr. Ochandiano is one member of the Gregorio Marañon team working on the #BIOMET4D project, which also includes Manuel Desco, Lorena Cussó and Rafael Correa. #BIOMET4D aims to create a new generation of biodegradable implants capable of shape change and load-bearing for dynamic tissue restoration to provide improved health outcomes in the treatment of craniosynostosis and skin expansion procedures. Dr. Ochandiano’s role within the project is in the development of an animal experimental model simulating the craniosynostosis surgical treatment of a child. BIOMET4D is a collaborative research project coordinated by IMDEA Materials Institute with the participation of @Universitat zu Koln, the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, the University of Galway, Meotec GmbH, Aerosint and the @Instituto de Investigación Sanitaria Gregorio Marañon.
