(26 Nov 2020) 'DR. NO' GUN PART OF BIG HOLLYWOOD AUCTION The Walther PP pistol carried by Sean Connery in the first James Bond film is headed to the auction block. The gun seen in 1962's "Dr. No" is among the highlights of a 2,000-item four-day auction beginning Dec. 1 at Julien's Auctions in Beverly Hills, California. "Sadly, Sean Connery passed away recently. We have those movies to remember him and we have those important props and that pistol -- that Walther PP from that movie, from 'Dr. No,' such an important prop in the entire movie," said Martin Nolan, executive director of Julien's Auctions. He said $150,000 to $200,000 is the "guiding price" for the item but it could sell for much more after Connery's death last month. Other key attractions: guitars played by Jimi Hendrix, Kurt Cobain and Eddie Van Halen, Arnold Schwarzenegger's leather jacket from "Terminator 2: Judgment Day" and Michael Jackson's silver glove. Designs from Randi Rahm worn by Beyoncé and Mariah Carey are also up for sale.
