West Point Organist Craig Williams plays one of the Easter chorale preludes from Johann Sebastian Bach's Orgelbüchlein - translated "The Glorious Day Has Appeared." While most of the Orgelbüchlein settings quote the melody directly, this prelude is clearly dominated by the melody on one louder setting while all other voices serve a patterned accompanimental function - almost like a trumpet or cornet voluntary. This closely follows the Buxtehude model of melody chorale, more than many of the other preludes in the collection which branch out into more experimental forms.
