By Waldo Cabrera The Islip Art Museum and the Islip Arts Council — in partnership with AARP New York — put together a unique virtual art exhibition called 2-Together. Established artists were asked to partner with rising artists 12-18 years old and TOGETHER create a work of art. The goal of this art exhibition was not only to see what beautiful pieces are created, but also to have parents, children, teachers, students, grandparents and grandchildren communicate with each other in a different way. By becoming co-creators, generational gaps were blurred and traditional ways of interacting changed.
