The resort is just 10 miles west from Downtown Reno. Built and opened in 1964, Boomtown originally started as a truck stop serving travelers on Interstate 80. It then expanded into a full hotel and casino resort and became famous for its lobster buffet. Modeled after a western cowboy town, Boomtown has about 40,000 square feet of gaming space and 316 rooms. Live entertainment and music performances are performed 7 days a week on their casino floor main stage. Currently, Boomtown is now known as Best Western Plus Boomtown Casino Hotel since its affiliation Best Western in 2016.
