"Stray God") is a Japanese manga series that was written and illustrated by Adachitoka and was released in December of 2010 by Kodansha's Monthly Shōnen Magazine. ►Synopsis: Yato is a minor deity and is a self-proclaimed "Delivery God," who dreams of one day having his own shrine with tens of thousands of worshippers. However, as he is a minor god, with no shrine, his goals are far from being accomplished. The Yato god completes any jobs that is asked of him for five yen apiece, until his weapon/regalia (Tomone or Mayu) becomes fed up with his useless self and begs him to set her free. She deserts him and Yato is left without a regalia. Just as things appear to be grim, his fortune changes when Hiyori Iki, a middle school girl, supposedly saves Yato from a car accident by taking the hit from an on coming bus for him. Remarkably, she lives, but the event has caused her soul to slip out and hence her soul being able to leave her body. Hiyori makes a wish for Yato return her to normal however, upon learning that Yato needs a new regalia in order to grant her wish, she agrees to help him search for one.
