The oldest freehold pub in England is 'The Royal Standard ' with a history of over 900 years. Located in the small village of Forty Green near Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire this country pub is living history. It's a phenomenal place - full of charm, full of nooks and crannies and statues, paintings, swords and lots of memorabiia that would have you exploring for hours. We loved it. The pub has 4 different seating areas and 3 roaring fireplaces. You will want to come again and again. Come and join me as I experience the food and atmosphere of the Oldest Pub in England, The Royal Standard of England in Beaconsfield. The interior was a filming location for the pub scenes in the film "Hot Fuzz", as 'The Crown' pub. The remainder of the film was filmed in and around the town of Wells in Somerset, but the inside of the fictional pub was filmed here at the Royal Standard.
