Recently, researchers decoded the genome of the world's largest predatory fish, the great white shark, and found out that it contains the genes to produce pentadactyly. Even though these genes are present, sharks can 'turn off' some of their genes so as to maintain integrity and resist mutations. In this video, I give you a detailed explanation of the above discovery and also answer the age old question of why sharks don't have toes.
