I bought this old abandoned house completely sight unseen — no photos, no inspection, nothing. The seller never mentioned the broken windows or the state of the place. The moment I stepped inside, I realized it was far worse than I imagined: the floors are completely rotted through, full of holes. There's no ceiling in some rooms — you can see straight up to the attic. Icicles hang inside the house because snowmelt is dripping right through the roof. But this house has a story. A rotary dial telephone sits on the shelf — most people today wouldn't even know how to use one. A strange vinyl record, a blueprint for a stove with the actual stove still standing nearby, a razor blade stamped "Made in Poland," and a shop scale hidden inside a cabinet. Who lived here? What kind of life filled these rooms before everything fell apart? The house is huge — you can really see it from the attic. There's even a well out back, which means water. Behind a stuck door with a strange locking mechanism, there's a whole storage area filled with tools, window frames, and plastic sheeting — probably used for a greenhouse once. Is it a huge regret? The house needs a massive renovation. But it's big, it has water, and every room tells a piece of someone's forgotten life.
