A day dipped in flavours, memories, music, and soulful moments… Santiniketan, you have my heart. Our day began with an authentic Bengali Thali at Shakuntala Village Resort — what a spread it was! Aloo Posto, Dal, Begun Bhaja, Masoor Dal, Rice, Papad, and that delicious Mangsho Jhol… Kya maza aaya dost! Each bite carried the warmth of Bengal’s kitchen. After that, we found ourselves at a quaint little tea stall under a tree… and what a scene it was! People singing folk songs, others playing instruments… everything around us was soaked in art and peace. With a warm cup of chai in hand, the air filled with music and the calm green of Bolpur Santiniketan — it felt like we had stepped into a dream. As we journeyed on, a soft Krishnakoli hummed in the air, guiding us through this land of Tagore. One very emotional stop was at a place I used to frequent in my younger days — Kalor Dukan, a tiny tea shop where I had shared many cups of tea and quiet moments. The owner, a gentle soul, is no longer with us. I never knew his name… The stall still stands, holding the echoes of so many memories. We then made our way to Amoli Café — ‘Amoli’ means precious, and true to its name, this café is a hidden gem. Peaceful, beautiful, and full of charm. And then… to Tanzil — a beautiful centre for art and craft. Meeting Sangamitra after so many years was truly heartwarming. Filled with handcrafted lamps and artifacts — we picked up a few to carry the art of Santiniketan back with us. As the sun set, we returned to our homestay Ekantika, humming songs of Rabindranath Tagore, hearts full and spirits touched. This place… this experience… is not just travel, it’s a feeling. Come, feel it with us.
