The 2024 Nissan Qashqai e-Power is here to shake up the hybrid small SUV segment by going its own way with a very different approach from the norm. Yep, there's a new Toyota Cross Hybrid rival in town, but it's no copycat. So, what stands the the latest contender out from the crowd? Well, firstly, the Qashqai e-Power isn't a series-parallel hybrid like the Corolla Cross Hybrid. Instead, it's 'just' a series hybrid, meaning that while it does have a petrol engine and an electric motor, the former is solely responsible for acting as a generator for the small battery that the latter draws its power from. Point being, it's effectively an electric vehicle with a driving range extender.
