Journal with Me -- A Day of Hiking in Cinque Terre, Italy!

This is the third entry in my travel journal and this is quickly becoming my favorite series we've ever made on our channel. It feels so cozy to sit down and have you journal with me and reminisce together about different adventures Lou and I have in the van. I hope you enjoy the chit chat style and my watercolors in today's journal entry which is all about our day hiking through the Cinque Terre region in Italy. I do a few watercolors in this entry and I have to say watercolor is a tricky medium as there is really no going back once the paint is on the page. You can't recover highlights once they're gone, but for me, it is the most relaxing of all the types of art I've done because you have to almost surrender to the water and it takes you where it wants to go. I think the color is so much more forgiving than a drawing just done in pen and I really loved the combination of using a black pen once the watercolor was done.
