In less than a year, our community raised $175,000 so we could unlock a matching grant for the same amount. These generous donations let us build our Learning Village, our amphitheater, our whole trail system, and our composting toilet! And recently, for Encounter Week, Mark, Char, and 13 students built a gorgeous yurt that will be a learning classroom for VCS students for decades to come! We’ve also raised all the money we need to own the OEC outright. No loans, no mortgages–it belongs to the whole VCS community forever! There’s no way we’d be here without all of the people who believed in the OEC from day one and everyone who has contributed along the way. So whether you donated, hauled wood, cleared the trail, hammered, sawed, or just provided moral support, come on out and enjoy this beautiful place that we’ve all built together. And thank you!
