The Temple of Speed asked two questions: How fast are you? And can you survive the chaos? Before the race even started, we already knew the answer to the first question. No. We were not fast enough. Our top speed was down on everything. I knew this going in. Which is why we didn't take the pit start. Because once we lost a slipstream, we didn't have the top end to get it back. The second question? That could only be answered after the chequered flag fell and the chaos had played out. Would we survive the hedgehog's dilemma? We started P54. And we survived everything Monza could throw at us. Worked with others. Slowly, surely, claimed positions. When the flag fell: P14. Our best result of the season. But surviving is not success. Because P14 from the back of the grid is still making up numbers. Because we stood on the season opener and declared the podium, nothing less—and seven races later our peak performance is finishing where we did by accepting we weren't fast enough and focusing on not crashing. What does that tell you? What does that say about everything we've claimed to learn? That you can execute. You can strategize. You can survive. And you're still not good enough. Maybe this season hasn't been teaching us anything. Maybe it's been diagnosing us. Building evidence. Proving something we've been refusing to see. That we are what the results say we are. That evolution is fiction. That "not ready yet" doesn't have a "yet." Now VIR. Virginia International Raceway. Full Course. We have history here. The Corvette. Great pace. The wheel came off in my hands. Couldn't finish because the machine failed. I'm different now. Evolved since then. Have I though? Because VIR doesn't care what you tell yourself. VIR asks one question: are you good enough? Oak Tree punishes hesitation. Hog Pen rewards commitment you might not have. The esses compound errors into time you never recover. Turn 1's off-camber nightmare exposes doubt. Roller Coaster lives up to its name. NASCAR Bend asks if you believe in yourself and both answers feel wrong. Limited overtaking means your pace IS your result. No cooperation strategy to hide behind. No tow to borrow speed from others. Just you and 18 corners for three hours. Monza let us hide. "Not fast enough" became "survived through strategy." We turned limitation into narrative. Weakness into achievement. Failure into lesson. VIR strips that away. This time the wheel won't come off. The car will work. And if we still can't show what we think we're capable of, there's no mechanical failure to blame. No netcode. No lapped traffic. No cooperation. Just us. What if the wheel coming off at VIR wasn't the problem? What if it was mercy? Giving us something external to point at instead of facing what was always sitting in the seat? Three hours. 18 corners. Each one asking the same question lap after lap: are you good enough? And when the flag falls, VIR will answer. Honestly. Permanently. Without the narratives we use to soften truth. We demanded the podium. We're celebrating P14 as our best. We call it progress. We call it learning. We call it evolution. What if it's none of those things? What if it's just acceptance with better vocabulary? VIR waits. The excuses are gone. The narratives won't work. Just three hours to find out what we actually are when there's nothing left to hide behind. Are you good enough? VIR will tell us. Whether we want to hear it or not. 📍 Virginia International Raceway - Full Course 🚗 McLaren 720S GT3 EVO 🏆 Simucube GT Endurance Championship 2026 (Round 9) P14 by surviving.
