INDIA GATE ========= India Gate is a famous war memorial located in New Delhi, India. It was built in 1931 by the British architect Sir Edwin Lutyens to honor the 74,187 Indian soldiers who died while fighting for the British Army during World War I .The monument is 42 meters tall and resembles the Arc de Triomphe in Paris. RASHTRAPATI BHAVAN =================== Rashtrapati Bhavan is the official residence of the President of India, located in New Delhi. It is one of the largest presidential homes in the world.The building was originally called the Viceroy's House and was built during British rule. Construction started in 1912 and was completed in 1929. It was designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens, the same architect who designed India Gate. After India gained independence in 1947, the Viceroy's House was renamed Rashtrapati Bhavan, which means "President's House". PARLIAMENT OF INDIA ================= Old Parliament House ( Sansad Bhavan ): The Old Parliament House was built during British rule and inaugurated in 1927. It was designed by architects Sir Edwin Lutyens and Herbert Baker. The building is circular in shape and has 144 columns. After India's independence in 1947, it became the home of the Indian Parliament where important laws and debates took place for over 75 years. Over time, it became too small and outdated to meet modern needs, which led to the idea of a new building. New Parliament House: The New Parliament Building was inaugurated on 28 May 2023 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It is part of the Central Vista Project, a plan to modernize government buildings in New Delhi. The new building is triangular in shape and designed to be more spacious, modern, and earthquake-resistant. It can seat 888 Members in the Lok Sabha and 384 in the Rajya Sabha, compared to 545 and 245 in the old one. The new Parliament is also equipped with advanced technology and eco-friendly features.
