In this video we demonstrate how to clean extinguishing agent from items that were in the extinguisher's "blast zone" If we have ever cleaned after a fire has been put out with a dry chemical extinguisher, then, we have probably wondered if the cure was worse than the disease. The ammonium phosphate is that fine, yellow powdery fallout that was blasted over a surprisingly large area. Ammonium phosphate softens and sticks when in contact with hot surfaces. While this characteristic makes it a great extinguishing agent, it sometimes makes cleanup very difficult. ABC dry chem can do serious damage to delicate equipment and corrode metal, especially if it is not thoroughly cleaned.
