Welcome to my new YouTube channel! Over the coming weeks, I will be sharing instructional art videos for beginners and improvers to help grow their skills. Painting with watercolour doesn't have to be difficult. This simple exercise shows how layers - or glazes - of transparent colour washes can create different effects. They can intensify colour, change it's hue (go from yellow to orange etc.) or tone down the effect the colour has on a painting. This is the first in a series of watercolours aimed at the beginner or improving artist that will be posted weekly. Using small studies like this mean you only use a small amount of materials and can even use cheap sketchbook paper to practice the effect. Please subscribe to make sure you don't miss anything!
