No better place to grab a nightcap after biking across Illinois's most haunted road - Cuba Road, than Illinois's oldest continuously operating restaurant and tavern - The Village Tavern. Located in historic Long Grove, Illinois, The Village Tavern has been serving food and drinks since 1847! Actually the original tavern was called John Zimmers Wagon Shop which opened in 1847 and later became the Village Tavern in 1849. The tavern is known for its delicious Friday night Fish Fry - Alaskan Pollock - some of the best fish in the entire Chicago metro region. Other historic items showcased at The Village Tavern include the ornate bar which once resided at Mccormick Place in the city of Chicago, it survived a devastating fire there in 1967 and was moved to its present location. Another is the grandfather clock which chimed at the famous Chicago World's Fair of 1893 - one of the largest events in world history. Songs: Lunatic by Myuu Tuath de Dunsany by Jesse Gallagher
