New Prime Minister Of The Netherlands Right Wing Party's PVV , BBB , NSC VVD Will Be Dick Schoof ?? The Dutch coalition parties PVV, VVD, NSC and BBB have a candidate prime minister. Dick Schoof is prepared to become prime minister of the future government. "I have always felt involved in the governance of our country and have always wanted to play my part in it," Schoof said during a first press conference. He says he has thought carefully about the position and would like to work with the four coalition parties towards a functioning cabinet. "I want to contribute to the connection in the Netherlands." Schoof is described in the Netherlands as a 'top civil servant'. He currently works as the highest official at the Ministry of Justice and Security. He has also held several other high-ranking positions, as boss of the AIVD intelligence service, National Coordinator for Counterterrorism and Security (NCTV) and director of the Immigration and Naturalization Service (IND). According to him, his administrative knowledge can only help in governing the country. "I believe that I can contribute something to the general interest of the country. I want to work hard to address the social issues and concerns of all Dutch people." The prime minister-designate emphasizes that he remains party-free. He canceled his membership of the PvdA in 2021 because he no longer feels related. "I want to create a program based on what the 4 faction leaders have agreed. I will undoubtedly give my interpretation to it, but that forms the basis." Difficult search for prime minister In mid-May - after months of consultation - the decision was made: the four parties PVV, VVD, NSC and BBB announced that they had reached a provisional coalition agreement or 'negotiator's agreement'. It contained the broad outlines of the policy that the new government would pursue, with a focus on less migration and a toned-down nitrogen policy. It was not immediately clear who would succeed Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte after almost 14 years. The name of the social democratic PvdA member Ronald Plasterk had been circulating for a long time, but he decided to withdraw after questions about his handling of certain patents. Ultimately, the Prime Minister will lead the extra-parliamentary cabinet that the four parties PVV, VVD, NSC and BBB want to form. The plan is to find a cabinet with new ministers and state secretaries before June 26. Reactions mainly positive The chairmen of the coalition parties are already responding positively to Schoof's arrival. PVV leader Geert Wilders is "extremely happy and very proud". He thinks Schoof is a strong man who stands above the parties. Dilan Yesilgöz of VVD also thinks that Schoof is "good at connecting". "It is a prime minister for all Dutch people." Schoof's experience is something that Pieter Omtzigt of NSC finds important. BBB chairman Caroline van der Plas is also pleased that Schoof has so much experience with threats and security. "In the unstable world we live in, it is good to have a prime minister with experience." The opposition in the House of Representatives reacts differently. Frans Timmermans, the chairman of GroenLinks-PvdA, sees Schoof above all as a "very loyal and dedicated civil servant." At Forum for Democracy and Think they mainly respond critically. "The Netherlands voted for Geert Wilders and we get a former PvdA official who has been spying on people for years." Stephan van Baarle, chairman of the Denk party, is also "not cheering" now that he hears who may become the new prime minister. He questions Schoof's past. The parties are talking about the commotion that arose in 2021 when it emerged that the NCTV, led by Schoof, used fake accounts to follow hundreds of political campaign leaders, religious leaders and activists on social media.
